Welcome to "Hidden Gem" on Smith Lake. A mountain lovin' girl married to a lake lovin' boy found the perfect home to fit both of our loves. Hidden Gem provides guests the feeling of being nestled in a mountain cabin retreat while being located on beautiful Smith Lake. Our home has brought many Woosah (defi: tell someone to calm down and relax) moments for us that we would like to extend to you. This cabin is our family's vacation spot, but we would love to share with others when we are not there. Hidden Gem is a 3 bedroom 2 bath log cabin nestled in a cove located on the main channel in the central part of the lake. It is perfect for families with small children who want a secluded spot to swim or fish without worrying about boat traffic. The home is located just minutes from Duncan Marina (where boat rentals are available). The upstairs loft boasts a fantastic owners suite with a queen size bed, private bath with a spa inspired shower and relaxing sitting area with large flat screen TV, DVD player, and Wii play station. Downstairs hosts the remaining two bedrooms, bathroom, living room, and kitchen and dining area. Bedroom 1 consists of a queen size bed and has a TV and DVD player. Bedroom 2 has two futon bunk beds (futon folds out to full-size on bottom and twin on top). The living room has all leather furniture, flat screen TV, DVD player. There is a large video library available for your viewing enjoyment. The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, including a gas stove, fridge, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. There are also utensils and spices available for the avid cookers who like to whip up delicious meals! A charcoal grill is available for the grill masters as well. In addition to lake access from our 10 X10 swim pier, our home is located across the street from the neighborhood rec area that has a tennis court, basketball court, and football/soccer field. We do offer the use of any equipment we have (soccer ball, tennis racquets and balls, basketball, archery equipment) for our guest to use during their stay. The neighborhood boat launch is located just over 1/2 mile from our home and there is space available to store you trailer at the house. The outside of the house has a sloping walk way down to the swim pier. We offer a canoe and aqua lily pad for guest to use for their enjoyment while here. There is a large fire pit for you to huddle around during the cool fall evenings and make s'mores or just enjoy some music from the outdoor speaker available. Or you might just want to enjoy some quiet reading time in the hammock that overlooks the lake. During chilly winter months you may just want to cozy up around the wood burning stove in the living room with a book or movie. The relaxing options are endless! Welcome to "Lazy Dazey" on Smith Lake. Lazy Dazey is the absolute perfect vacation getaway for a family. It is located in a secluded area near Duncan Bridge called Battle Branch. It's location comes with absolute peace and quiet. Also, there is a very little amount of boats that come into this part of Battle Branch. It is conveniently located right off of Curry Hwy(257). Gateway Foodland grocery store is 3 miles down the road. Duncan Bridge is less than a mile, and within kayaking distance. Lazy Dazey has 4 corner bedrooms on the main floor, with 3 bathrooms. 2 of the bedrooms are masters with on-suite bathrooms, and the other 2 are standard rooms with a shared bathroom. House sleeps eight total. First master bedroom has a king size bed and smart tv(Roku). The second master bedroom has a queen sized bed. The third bedroom also has a queen, and the 4th has a full size bed with an additional twin bed. The property has charter WiFi (200 Mbps). It is super FAST and works all through the house and reaches to the dock. Upstairs is a fun rec room with ping pong, card table, lots of board games, and a fantastic entertainment system with surround sound, large flat screen, Roku, Blu Ray Player, and luxurious seating. Also, located upstairs are french doors that lead out to what we call, "The Eagle's Nest." This is a deck that overlooks the property and the beautiful lake. Lazy Dazey has 3 decks. The main deck is right off the back door and has seating, gas grill, and ring toss game. The lower deck has lots of seating with a great view. The property is not very steep. Just a slight walk down to the water. On the water is a floating jet ski dock, single boat slip with swim pier, and swim ladder. There are 3 kayaks for your use: 1 tandem sit-on top, 1 single sit-on-top, and 1 tandem inflatable kayak, and also a lily pad like float. The property is 3 acres, with lots of privacy and trees. You will feel like you have your own private lake. To the left of the dock is a snaking creek that is fantastic to kayak through. It is like a nature preserve with weeping willows, lily pads, turtles, fish, and birds. To the right of the dock is a tunnel that goes under Curry Hwy and through the other part of Battle Branch. It pops out into big water where you will then see Duncan Bridge ahead. Boats with the proper clearance can access this part of Battle Branch and tie up to Lazy Dazey's dock. Pontoon boats and smaller can make it through the tunnel during certain times of the year. A public boat launch is located less than a mile down the road at Duncan Bridge Marina. This home sits on a very private point lot with 700 feet of water frontage. It was designed for multiple families with kids. The view is absolutely spectacular with water on 3 sides and views from almost every room in the house. It is roughly 3,000 square feet and has a additional 2,100 square feet of balconies and decks. There are two great rooms, one for the adults and a second for the kids. The upstairs has 20' vaulted ceilings throughout. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops and a Keurig Coffee machine. The huge, custom built square table seats 12 for family meals and two additional bar top chairs are at the kitchen counter top. For outdoor cooking, there is a large, high end, gas grill and a wood burning smoker. There are two masters with one upstairs and the second down. The third and fourth bedrooms are downstairs. The game room includes a pool table, ping pong, foosball table, games and puzzles. We have a flat screen tv on the main level with Directv as well as two tv's on the bottom level, one in the master downstairs and one in the main room. The outside balconies and decks wrap three sides of the house. The lighted walkway leads down to the enormous three slip boat house and swim platform. The water slide is connected to city water for hours of fun in the lake. A deck box is available with life preservers for all sizes. There are plenty of chairs and chaise lounges by the house that can be brought down to the dock to use. Pontoon boat rentals are made through Duskin Point Marina. You are also welcome to bring your own boat. The boat house includes 2 open slips for 2 boat and additional side docking for 3-4 more. Smith Lake is rated as the third cleanest lake in the country. You must see it to believe it. There are 500 miles of shoreline with over 21,200 acres of water. There is fantastic swimming, fishing, boating and skiing. Much of the lake is in the Bankhead National Forest with miles of undisturbed wooded shores and spectacular views. We are located very close to the Smith Lake dam and is also near Duskin Point Marina (great for refueling and a quick snack). This is an older cabin built in 1973 on beautiful Smith Lake . The cabin is fully furnished; one queen bedroom, two queen/twin bedrooms. A basement is equipped with two bunks and a queen size bed and half bath. The Lake is a 20 feet away accessed by a paved sidewalk. There is a floating swim platform. There is also an outdoor shower. The lake side porch has six rocking chairs and there is also a lower level patio.

The back deck gets early morning sun, great for watching the sunrise, and is completely shaded for most of the day. The lower back deck has a picnic table for a place to get away and a porch swing that overlooks the lake. This area is covered as well and makes a great place to hide from the others! Mermaid Cove is located a short 30 minute drive from I-65 and 3 miles by water from Smith Lake Dam in Spring Branch. All roads are paved to the property. Birmingham and Huntsville (1-1.5 hour drive) Jasper (1 hour drive) Nashville is 2.5 hour drive. The property is located in the back of the cove but just out in the main creek to provide the optimal location. During low water levels in the fall we have minimum of 40 feet of water under our boat house. Very low boat traffic provides a calm day on the water even at peak seasons. The covered boathouse has one 9’ X 20’ boat slip. Two covered PWC dry docks are connected to the boat house. The 16‘ X 28’ swim deck has all day sun for the “sun worshipers” but plenty of shade when needed. Lounge chairs, paddle-boat, kayaks, Stand up Paddle Board, water floats, swim noodles, Splash Island 18' x 6' and deck umbrella will be available for your use. Most life jacket sizes are available in the boathouse shed. Check with us if you need life jackets to make sure we have the correct sizes you need. Electrical Safety awareness has been raised in the last couple of years on the lake due to electrical shock while swimming. Our boathouse has water and electricity running to it from the house. The electrical current is protected by a GFI breaker in case of a ground fault. This prevents the current from staying on if a shock occurs. This main line is also controlled from the main breaker box in the house and can be turned off if you prefer. This prevents accidents from occurring due to electrical shock. A charcoal grill and a gas grill is available for your use on the patio. We provide propane but not the charcoal. A wood fire pit is built into the patio and firewood is provided for campfires. Our property has a gentle slope to the water and we have graded the walkway and added steps to make it very easy to access the boat house. This is not handicapped accessible. Parking for vehicles and boat trailers is available on the property. We have a gravel drive through drive large enough to accommodate up to an F-2500 with a Sea Ray 260 with no problem. We now see bald eagles in our area as well as a large family of Canadian geese. A lot of wild life is in the area you can see from the house. Mermaid Cove provides year round peace and relaxing with a warm fire on the gas logs on the deck on a cool fall evening or building a wood fire on the patio for so mores in the summer. There is never a bad time to enjoy the lake with plenty of year round activities within 30-45 miles of the house. Year round golf, guided fishing trips on the lake as well as fly fishing below the dam for trout, arts and crafts, bird watching, kayaking and boating. Seasonal activities include art/music festivals, water sports, hunting and fishing. The neighborhood has shaded paved roads that are excellent for walking or jogging with low traffic. More advanced walkers and runners will enjoy rolling hills and many straight-a-ways to challenge your abilities. There are walk/runs from 1-10 mile out and backs.
